The 13th NWDR Workshop will be held at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel on Friday 05 & Saturday 06 June 2009. Talks will start on Friday afternoon at 14:30 and end on Saturday towards 13:20.

All talks will take place in the Mathematical Institute, Ludewig-Meyn Str. 4, in Room 325 (third floor, end of corridor).

Tea and coffee will be available in the Diskussionsraum, Room 312.

Conference dinner Friday 18:30 at the restaurant Galileo.

Accommodation

A number of rooms have been set aside at the Hotel Berliner Hof for the participants of this workshop. Please refer to "NWDR 13" when booking your room in order to ensure that you will be charged the University rate.

The conference rate for a night will be 75 € (single room) and covers breakfast, bus fares, and a visit to the nearby home of balance in Sophienhof.

Important note: Please make the reservation before the 12. April, as we cannot guarantee that the rooms will be held for the workshop participants after this date.

Workshop Registration

If you are planning to attend the workshop, please send a brief e-mail to algebra at math dot uni-kiel dot de, and specify whether you will attend the conference dinner on Friday evening.

Travel information

The hotel Berliner Hof is very close to the Main Train Station. A clear map can be found on the hotel's directions page.

Bus connexions

From the main station, you can reach the University using buses 61/62, 81/82 or 91. People who have booked a room at Berliner Hof can use the booklet of their electronic key to travel free of charge during their stay.

  • Lines 61/62: Going from the train station to the university, you should go into the direction Suchsdorf or Projensdorf, going back into the direction Mettenhof or Russee. The bus heading towards the university leaves the train station at the bus stop Hauptbahnhof, located on the side of the railway station. You should go out at the station Universität.
    On Friday there are buses every 20 minutes, on Saturday only the 62 is running, leaving every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 15 minutes. For more information, download the 61/62 bus schedule.
  • Lines 81/82: Going from the train station to the university, you should go into the direction Botanischer Garten, going back into the direction Suchsdorf. The bus heading towards the university leaves the train station at the bus stop Hauptbahnhof, located on the side of the Sophienhof. You should go out at the station Universität.
    On Friday there are buses every 30 minutes, on Saturday you will need to catch the 82 at 7:42 or 8:45. The journey takes about 20 minutes. For more information, download the 81/82 bus schedule.
  • Line 91: Going from the train station to the university, you should go into the direction Friedrichsort, going back into the direction Melsdorf. The bus heading towards the university leaves the train station at the bus stop Hauptbahnhof, located on the side of the railway station. You should go out at the station Universität/Westring.
    There are buses every 30 minutes, and the journey takes about 15 minutes. For more information, download the 91 bus schedule.

Other information

Should you be so inclined, a taxi ride between the university and the hotel will cost you about 7 €. It is easiest to give the address of the University Tower (Olshausenstraße 40) as a destination.

A sketchy access plan to the University can be found here. If you are planning to arrive by plane (regular airlines arrive at Hamburg and discount airlines at Lübeck), please say so in your registration email and we will provide you with further information as needed.

Around the University

The mathematics building is located at Ludewig-Meyn Str. 4, and is quite close to the University Tower. You may download a partial campus map, showing in particular the mathematics department, the university tower and the four nearby bus stops.
