Conferences

In January 2016 we started a series of Miniworkshops on Operator Theoretic Aspects of Ergodic Theory. The kick-off event was held in Wuppertal, the second edition took place on 13-14 June 2016 in Kiel.

I was a (although somehow virtual) co-organiser of the International Conference on Evolution Equations which took place in Schmitten, 11 October -- 15 October 2010.
I was co-organiser (together with R Chill, D.Mugnolo, R.Nittka) of a symposium to the honour of Wolfgang Arendt on the occasion of his 60th birthday which took place in Ulm, 8 April -- 11 April 2010.
I was co-organiser of the LMS Regional Meeting 2006 in combination with a Workshop on Functional Analysis which took place in Leeds, 3 July -- 7 July 2006.
I was co-organiser of the final workshop of the 11th International Internet Seminar which took place in Blaubeuren, 15 June -- 21 June 2008.
I was virtual lecturer and co-organiser of the final workshop of the 12th International Internet Seminar which took place in Blaubeuren, 7 June -- 13 June 2009.

 

Short CV

Born in Nürnberg in 1970, I began to study Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Erlangen in 1990. In autumn 1992 I moved to the University of Tübingen where I studied Mathematics and Philosophy. After graduating in 1997 I started to work on a doctorate at the University of Augsburg in 1998. In 1999 I moved to the University of Ulm, where I completed the Doctorate in 2003 under the supervision of Wolfgang Arendt.

During the academic year 2004/2005 I was a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa.
From autumn 2005 until January 2007 I was Lecturer in Analysis at the University of Leeds.
In December 2006 I completed the German Habilitation at the University of Ulm.
From February 2007 until July 2015 I held a position as Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology.
Since August 2015 I am Professor in Analysis at Kiel University.

In July/August 2007 and January 2008 I was invited to the Mathematical Institute of the Polish Academy of Science in Warsaw and to Nicolaus-Kopernicus University Torun by means of a EU-Marie Curie grant.
In March 2009 I was "invited professor" at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Bordeaux 1.
In May/June 2014 I was guest researcher at TU Dresden on invitation of Ralph Chill.
From October 2019 to March 2020 I was Visiting Professorial Fellow at UNSW (Sydney, Australia) on invitation of Fedor Sukochev.

I am communicating editor of Semigroup Forum (since January 2010).
