Dr. Marcus Waurick, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow: "Homogenisation theory for curl-div systems"

25.11.2019 von 16:15 bis 18:00

LMS 4 - Raum 312 - Diskussionsraum

In the talk we consider homogenisation problems for curl-div systems. In applications, these problems are related to scattering problems. We aim to generalise known notions of $H$- or $G$-convergence to an operator theoretic setting. This provides more insight and the possibility of comparison for local and nonlocal coefficients. The core idea to achieve this generalisation is the introduction of a new operator topology, which is strictly weaker than both the norm or the strong operator topology and is not comparable to the weak operator topology.

The talk is based on arXiv:1903.10469 (joint with Nicaise, S.) and Calc. Var PDE 57(6): Art. 159, 46 pp., 2018.
